Kalymnos - the greek sponge divers island Massouri at Kalymnos in Greece
Kalymnos the Greek sponge divers island in the Aegean Sea the Dodecanese. It is situated in the north of Kos, the distance till Piraeus is 183 sea miles. Kalymnos is a small island, surface 111 km2, and exists for a great part of rocks. Kalymnos has an irregular coastline with many caves and lovely small beaches. Kalymnos does not belong to the top of the Greek tourism, but this does not mean that it is not a perfect area for holidays! Kalymnos has everything for a Greek holiday: sun – sea – archeological finds – old churches and Kalymnians who welcome the visitors hostile and friendly.
During the whole year people are welcome to visit Kalymnos, because there are no hard winters and in summer there is a lot of sun. Yet, the so-called tourist season starts at Easter and last till October. High summer it is in July and in August. With a temperature of about 30 degrees it is perfect to stay on one of the beaches.
